In four months of 2023, 22,700 foreigners came to Uzbekistan for treatment, Statistics Agency reports.
It is noted that in January-April, more than 2mn foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for tourist purposes. The travel goals of foreign visitors in the four months of 2023 were the following:
- visiting relatives - 1,754.200 people;
- recreation - 185,900people;
- for business - 38,600 people;
- treatment - 22,700 people;
- commercial/trade - 14,000 people;
- for study purposes - 4,000 people.
Daryo.uz has previously reported for which purposes Uzbekistan citizens went abroad the most in 2022. Overall, some 40,000 people left for treatment in January-October 2022. In the 10th month of 2022, 60,316 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for treatment, while some 9,500 citizens of Uzbekistan went abroad for the same purpose in 1Q2022.
