Turkmenistan will send its doctors to advise staff at a maternity clinic in the border village of Turgundi, Herat province, Afghanistan, in May 2023.
Local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports that the order was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov "based on friendly, brotherly and good-neighbourly relations.
He also ordered that medicines, manufactured goods and foodstuffs be given to Afghanistan as humanitarian aid.
Daryo previoulsy wrote that Ashgabat recently overhauled a 20-bed maternity clinic, which was built in 2006 at the expense of Turkmenistan's state treasury.
Turkmenistan shares a border with Afghanistan that is more than 800km long. About one million ethnic Turkmen live in its northern provinces. Ashgabat supplies its energy on preferential terms.
