Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has arrived in London at the invitation of the British side to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III and his consort Queen Consort, Altyn Asyr TV channel reports.
The head of state was invited to an official reception at Buckingham Palace.
Charles III said at the reception that he "recalled with pleasant feelings his visit (1996) to Turkmenistan", noting that the cooperation established between Great Britain and Turkmenistan would develop further.
"The head of the state's first visit confirms the great importance the two countries attach to building productive contacts," the TV report said.
One of the key areas of business partnership is energy.
"With its enormous hydrocarbon potential, our state is in favor of optimizing international cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, effectively contributing to regional and global energy security," the state-run Turkmen Habarlary agency said in a commentary.
British companies occupy a prominent position in the Turkmen market. De La Rue is associated with the history of the national currency, the Turkmen Manat. Gaffney, Cline & Associates audits gas fields and Dragon Oil is a major foreign investor.
