China's Qingdao Relong Technology Co., Ltd. has delivered another high-performance dredger to Turkmenistan – for the Port of Hazar operations, the Dredging Today (Netherlands) reports.
"As a result of massive dredging projects, the ports of the Caspian Sea are now set to be more navigable".
Relong 650 Model CSD dredger has 5000 m3/hr dredging capacity and can achieve up to 20m dredging depth.
"Due to the sustainable economic development plans and a need to ensure the smooth navigation of these waterways, the demand for more dredging vessels in the Caspian Sea area will increase," - said Relong.
Hazar is the current name of the city on the Cheleken peninsula. Dragon Oil (UAE), which operates here, transports produced oil by sea tankers. The company has been working in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea under a Production Sharing Agreement for more than 20 years, investing over $8bn.
