Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Gianni Infantino, President of the International Football Federation, on May 5, the president's press service reports.
Infantino applauded and supported Uzbekistan's present endeavors to promote football, attract youth to enjoy it, nurture outstanding players, build facilities, and train coaches and specialists at the meeting.
He also complimented Mirziyoyev on the recent Asian Cup triumph of the Uzbekistan youth national team, which he saw as evidence of the practical work being performed in this field. The summit emphasized the fruitful collaboration between the Football Association of Uzbekistan and FIFA, which aims to establish a contemporary football cluster in the nation.
Furthermore, the talks concentrated on issues such as getting ready for world-class sports events and championships, training the national team, improving technical assistance for infrastructure development, boosting the potential of the association, and developing a framework to identify and nurture talented players.
