Fox News and Fox Corp. settled a defamation lawsuit with voting equipment company Dominion for the company's coverage of false voting claims in the 2020 U.S. Presidential Elections, Reuters reports.
The case is reportedly called the largest defamation settlement in U.S. history. Dominion originally sought out $1.6bn in damages when it was first filed in 2021.
"Fox has admitted to telling lies about Dominion that caused enormous damage to our company and our customers," CEO of Dominion, John Poulos said in a statement.
"We are pleased to have reached a settlement of our dispute with Dominion Voting Systems. We are hopeful that our decision to resolve it amicably allows the country to move forward from these issues," said the statement from a Fox representative.
