The European Union brought to attention the possibility of terrible repercussions if the grain contract with Russia is not extended, RBC reports.
The EU mission in Russia has stated that if a consensus is not achieved, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, and the UN would all suffer. The EU has also accepted that Russia and Ukraine are significant global players. However, the EU criticized Russia for proposing convoluted requests that have little to do with the continuation of the deal. Moscow, on the other hand, thinks that other pact signatories are failing to meet their duties, such as easing the sanctions on Russian agricultural exports.
The G7 foreign ministers have again stressed the importance of the grain deal and encouraged Russia not to shorten its duration. The agreement was signed in July 2022 last time after negotiations with the help of the UN and Turkey.
