Tajikistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has informed Asia-Plus Agency that a joint business forum and the first meeting of the Business Council of the two countries will be held in Dushanbe on April 8-9.
Reportedly, the abovementioned events would be held ahead of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov's official visit to Tajikistan, scheduled for April 10-11.
"A delegation of 100 representatives of Turkmenistan will come to Dushanbe. More than 200 domestic entrepreneurs will represent Tajikistan at the forum".
Mutual trade between the two countries since the beginning of the year is estimated at $11.8mn, with a surplus in favor of Turkmenistan.
Analysts say that Ashgabat and Dushanbe may discuss major regional economic projects during their upcoming talks.
Earlier, Daryo wrote that there are plans to use Tajikistan's territory for an additional fourth branch of a transnational gas pipeline to China.
