Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A. and Hududgaztaminot JSC reached an agreement on the "Modernization and reconstruction of the gas distribution system of Uzbekistan". A 200 million euros-project is funded by the state export credit agency SACE (Italy). A training school for advanced engineers will be established based on advanced Italian experience in the gas sector on the basis of the HGT Training centre.
The last winter clearly showed that there is still a lot of work to be done in the gas supply system. As a result of the breakdown of gas equipment in some regions that were not adapted to extreme cold weather and low gas pressure, gas leaks caused a lot of inconvenience to consumers.
In order to prevent similar situations in the future, Hududgaztaminot was assigned to transfer the gas supply system of 706,500 households to two stages. It is also planned the construction of 381.3 kilometres of new gas networks, and the reconstruction and modernization of 452.4 kilometers of existing gas pipelines.

So far, 4 gas distribution points of the company Pietro Fiorentini S.p.A. have been implemented as a pilot test in Kattahovuz mahalla of Shaykhontohur district of the capital enabling the sustenance of 305 households and 5 wholesale consumers with natural gas and control technological processes in real-time.
The HGT Training center established on September 8, 2022, will be equipped with the latest modern equipment, and foreign experts will be invited for training.
