Uzbekistan and Iran aim to expand the volume of mutual trade to $1bn, Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov has informed.
"We had a candid meeting with the Foreign Minister of Iran H.E. Hossein Amir Abdollahian. We agreed to continue our joint efforts aimed at doubling bilateral trade turnover up to $1bn in the nearest future, as well as fostering investment partnerships, business exchanges, and Uzbek-Iranian people-to-people ties," - said the Minister on his Telegram channel.
Earlier this week, Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a memorandum of commitment for Iran to obtain the status of a member state in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
