Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Kurmanov met with Deputy Head of State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection Olga Shevchenko to discuss topical issues of Uzbek-Ukrainian bilateral cooperation in agriculture, Dunyo reports.
In particular, an exchange of views was held on the prospects for further expansion of cooperation in dairy production, the provision of quality food to the population of Uzbekistan, and many other areas.
According to the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the last week's meeting discussed measures aimed at removing technical obstacles:
'Deepening of bilateral cooperation, removal of technical obstacles, simplification of accreditation of Ukrainian enterprises-exporters of food products in Uzbekistan and other topics of economic cooperation between the two countries last week discussed with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Ukraine', the statement reads.
To date, 17 forms of international certificates have been agreed upon between the two countries.
The parties agreed to conduct a virtual meeting between the State Committee of Veterinary and Livestock Development staff of the Republic of Uzbekistan and specialists of the State Food and Consumer Service to find ways to optimize control in the field of food safety and veterinary medicine.
