Acting Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov on January 24 held talks with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amirabdollahian to exchange prospects of further development of bilateral relations within the framework of regional institutions, including the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
The schedule, organizational and substantive aspects of the future contacts, and the next round of consultations between the two Foreign Ministries were discussed.
Particular attention was drawn to international and regional policy issues. In addition, the importance of joint measures to enhance trade, transport, and logistics cooperation was noted.
The Iranian Foreign Minister congratulated the Uzbek side on the effective chairmanship in the ECO and the successful holding of the 26th Meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers (COM).
