Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Turkey, Bakhtiyor Saidov and Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on Tuesday (January 24) discussed measures aimed at expanding the bilateral cultural and humanitarian exchanges, the press service of Uzbekistan's Foreign Ministry has reported.
In his remark, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said that Uzbekistan’s chairmanship at the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) served to strengthen partnerships between its member states and raise the organization’s profile in the world arena.
The two ministers also revised the joint activities' schedule and organizational aspects, including regular Strategic Planning Group meetings at the Heads of Foreign Ministries level and the Joint Uzbek-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
The emerging situation in Afghanistan and other regional policy issues were discussed.
