On December 21, it was unveiled that one of the residents of the Kimyogarlar village in the city of Samarkand cut down the trees in an attempt to launch site clearing for the construction, the press service of the Samarkand Regional Department for Ecology and Environmental protection reported.
The citizen deliberately dug and cut the roots with an ax from three healthy maples in order to later present the damage to trees as natural.
However, the citizen's ploy did not convince environmentalists. As a result, the man was fined 34.5mn UZS.
