Illegal tree cutting in the Machai Forest Sector of Boysun District territory has been reported by inspectors from the Surkhandarya regional department on ecology and environmental protection along with the National Guard.
The law enforcement bodies discovered that 51 trees had been cut down in Uchdag, Zarang, and other areas.
Media reports indicate that those responsible have violated article 37 of the law ‘On the protection and use of plant world’ and caused plant damage worth over UZS 560mn.
Additionally, there was negligence in the forestry officers' performance of their duties in the Baisun district.
The collected documents have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for legal evaluation.
