The presidential decision "On measures to increase the effectiveness of reforms aimed at the transition of Uzbekistan to a 'green' economy until 2030" envisions the following activities:
To reduce greenhouse gas emissions per unit of GDP by 35% from the year 2010 level;
To increase the production capacity of renewable energy sources by 15 GW and its market share to more than 30% of the total volume of electricity production;
To introduce more energy efficiency in the industrial sector by at least 20%;
To decline energy consumption per unit of GDP by 30%;
To rise the efficiency of water use, introduce water-saving irrigation technology on an area of up to 1 million hectares;
To plant 200 million saplings every year totaling the number of trees by 1 billion, expanding green spaces in cities by more than 30 percent;
To grow the reserve index of the republic's forest fund to more than 90 million cubic meters;
To scale up the level of processing of generated solid household waste from 65 percent.
From June 1, 2023, a system of "green certificates" will be introduced based on the requirements for limiting the impact on ecology and the environment in the production of products. This was reported by the "Huquqiy axborot" channel on Telegram.
