Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kasim-Jomart Tokayev visited the exhibition dedicated to the legacy of a prominent Kazakh poet Abay Kononbayev, the Uzbek President’s press service reports.
Abay praises the age-old dreams of the Kazakh people, the ideas of justice, humanity and brotherhood in his poetic works and his wise words collected in the unique book “Nasihatlar" (Admonitions), one can get a clear idea of life in the Kazakh steppes at the end of the 19th century.
The heads of state witnessed Abai's three-string drum, Ko'onboy's hat, manuscripts, and photographs depicting the writer and his family.
Nowadays, the cultural days dedicated to the legacy of Abay Kononbayev are taking place across Uzbekistan.
