A statue of Alisher Navoi will be installed in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana. This was announced at the summit of the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to his Kazakh counterpart for this gesture of goodwill and fraternity.
"This is a clear confirmation of great respect for our common history and culture, a symbol of the eternity of friendship between our brotherly peoples," said the president.
The Uzbek leader called for conducting joint research on the study and popularization of the common cultural-historical heritage and establishing a joint media resource.
In December 2021, the President of Kazakhstan announced that a statue of A.Navoi would be erected as a symbol of the spiritual closeness and centuries-old friendship of the Uzbek and Kazakh people in the country's capital.
The statue of the prominent Uzbek poet is installed in the central square of Shanghai University in China in 2017, in Dushanbe in 2018, and in Minsk, Belarus in 2019. In 2021, a bust of this statesman was installed in Seoul, Korea.
