The press service of the Ministry of Energy reports that the Fergana oil refinery has scaled up the production of AI-80 gasoline by more than 50 per cent in winter.
In January-November 2022, the enterprise produced an average of 800 tons of products per day, whereas this indicator reached 1250 tons on December 14.
"Today, all the company's resources are aimed at supplying affordable fuel. The Uzbek government has decided to lift temporarily the excise duty which had a significant impact on the market and demand," Khabib Latipov, director of the company said.
The increase in processing volume was achieved due to the purposeful renewal of the plant's production capacity and investments attracted by the Saneg oil and gas company (which owns Fergana Oil Refinery since June 2022). Saneg intends to funnel more than 400 million dollars for the modernization of its subsidiary, the Fergana oil refinery, and double the rate of raw material processing during the year, (1 million tons to 2 million tons).
