Germany offers butcher jobs to Uzbeks with €1,750 monthly salary

Germany offers butcher jobs to Uzbeks with €1,750 monthly salary

Uzbek butchers are being offered employment opportunities in Germany with a monthly salary of €1,750, according to the Agency for External Labor Migration under the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan.

The jobs are offered in cooperation with the German company The International People Placement  GmbH & Co. KG, which has announced 150 vacancies in the field of butchery. The positions come with a 44-hour work week and are available to qualified male candidates.

To be eligible, applicants must be physically fit men aged between 18 and 44. They should have at least one year of practical experience in butchery, be skilled in meat cutting, understand sanitary regulations, and be capable of working with sharp tools.

Candidates must submit an employment certificate obtained from my.gov.uz, an international A2-level German language certificate, and a vocational or higher education diploma. Importantly, the diploma must be registered in Germany's Anabin database and have H+ status to be recognized.

The employer in Germany will cover transportation costs from the airport to the place of residence. However, selected candidates are expected to pay for their own airfare, visa, accommodation, and meals. They will also need to cover agency service fees amounting to four times the Basic Calculation Amount (BHM). A three-month probationary period will apply upon employment.

As an incentive, the Migration Agency will compensate candidates for the costs related to airfare, visa fees, and obtaining the German language certificate.

Interested applicants are required to register and upload scanned copies of their international passport, diploma, and language certificate when applying.

This initiative follows a trilateral memorandum signed in April 2024 between Germany and Uzbekistan to promote safe and legal labor migration. Similar programs are also being explored elsewhere.

For example, the United States is expecting to face a shortage of over 1mn nurses by 2030 and will offer 44,000 work visas annually to qualified healthcare workers. Additionally, Tatarstan’s Alabuga enterprise is planning to hire 10,000 labor migrants from Uzbekistan.
