Uzbekistan’s automotive sector grew in the first four months of 2025, with 122,380 passenger cars produced—up 6.8% year-on-year—driven by higher output of Onix and Damas models, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Leading the charge was the Chevrolet Cobalt, with 44,740 units assembled, marking a 7.3% increase and accounting for every third car manufactured.
Damas came in second with a significant 28.9% rise, reaching 29,900 units. Onix also showed strong performance, with production climbing 31.6% to 15,230 cars.
Other brands also saw growth: Kia boosted its output by 41% to 8,680 units, and Haval recorded a remarkable 11.5-fold increase to 2,634 vehicles. The BYD plant in Jizzakh region produced 4,267 electric cars during the period.
However, not all brands experienced growth. Chery and Tracker registered production declines of 20.6% and 18%, respectively, manufacturing 2,773 and 14,090 units.

According to Uzavtosanoat, car sales reached 106,800 units between January and April. UzAuto Motors maintained the largest market share at 55.6%, followed by Khorezm Auto (26.9%), ADM Jizzakh (11.3%), and BYD Uzbekistan Factory (5.6%). Combined, other manufacturers contributed less than 1%.
Chevrolet remained the top-selling brand with over 88,210 vehicles sold—more than half of which were Cobalt models. Kia sold 7,360 units, and BYD followed with 5,953 electric cars. Chery (2,633) and Haval (2,127) rounded out the top five.
Among individual models, Chevrolet Cobalt, Damas, Tracker, Labo, and Onix dominated the market, jointly accounting for over 81.7% of total sales. The top 10 list also featured the Kia Sonet, three BYD models, and the Haval M6.
Earlier, it was reported that in April, passenger car sales in Uzbekistan jumped 20% from March, surpassing 77,000 units. Most regions saw increased market activity, led by Syrdarya (+34%), Tashkent (+32%), and Karakalpakstan (+29%). Primary market sales rose 15% to 26,000 cars, with new domestic car sales up 4% to 20,500 units, and new foreign car sales doubling to 5,300. The used car market also rebounded strongly, increasing 22% to 52,000 units after a slight decline in March.
