Following high-level talks in Budapest, Uzbekistan and Hungary have formalized a strengthened strategic partnership. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban signed a joint declaration solidifying this enhanced cooperation, the presidential press service reported.

The signing ceremony marked a milestone in bilateral relations, underlining the commitment of both countries to deepen their collaboration across multiple sectors. Alongside the joint declaration, several key intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements were exchanged in the presence of the two leaders.
Among the newly adopted documents is the Extradition Treaty, which will facilitate legal cooperation and the transfer of individuals in criminal matters between the two nations. Additionally, both parties signed an Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Climate Change, highlighting their shared dedication to addressing global environmental challenges.

Further interdepartmental agreements were also exchanged, covering cooperation in natural disaster management, scientific research and innovation, and peaceful nuclear energy. These accords are expected to foster stronger ties in critical areas such as disaster preparedness, technological advancement, and the safe use of nuclear power for civilian purposes.
The expanded strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Hungary signals a new phase of collaboration, aimed at promoting sustainable development, security, and innovation. Both leaders emphasized their countries' readiness to work closely on these fronts, strengthening ties that benefit their peoples and contribute to regional stability.
