In the first four months of 2024, Uzbekistan’s exports reached $8.4bn, a 9% increase y/y the State Statistics Agency reports. However, overall export performance has fluctuated over the past two years, with total exports dropping by 25.85% from 2022 to 2023, and then increasing by 6.10% from 2023 to 2024, leading to an overall decline of 21.36% from 2022 to 2024.
Exports to Russia increased by $209.9mn, rising to $1.02bn from $811.5mn, reflecting a 25.9% growth. China saw a modest rise in exports from Uzbekistan, with a $23mn increase to $644.4mn from $621.4mn, marking a 3.7% increase. Exports to Afghanistan grew by $43.4mn, rising to $301.4mn from $258.0mn, a 16.8% growth. France saw a substantial rise in exports from Uzbekistan, with a $144mn increase to $264.6mn from $120.6mn, marking a 119.4% increase. Exports to Pakistan surged by $38.8mn, reaching $106.4mn, up from $67.6mn, indicating a 57.3% growth. The United States also experienced an increase, with exports growing by $25.9mn to $69.4mn from $43.5mn, showing a 59.3% rise.
However, some of Uzbekistan's export partners saw a decline with exports to Kazakhstan decreasing by $43.8mn, falling to $383.9mn from $427.7mn, down 10.3%. Turkey saw a significant decline, with exports dropping by $116.5mn to $378.0mn from $494.5mn, a decrease of 23.6%. Exports to Kyrgyzstan fell by $88.6mn, reaching $153.5mn from $242.1mn, a 36.6% decrease. Tajikistan's exports decreased by $21.2mn, down to $145.8mn from $167.0mn, reflecting a 12.7% decline.
