In the latest International Football Federation (FIFA) rankings for April, the Uzbekistan national football team has ascended two places, now securing the 64th position with 1386.58 points.
During the period from February 15 to April 4, the Uzbekistan team participated in the second qualifying round for the 2026 World Cup, facing off against Hong Kong. The team displayed exceptional performance, securing victories with scores of 0:2 and 3:0, respectively. These triumphs propelled the Uzbekistan footballers into the third qualifying round of qualification, setting the stage for further competitive matches against Turkmenistan and Iran in June.
Uzbekistan team maintains its position as the 8th strongest team in Asia. The top 10 Asian teams also include formidable opponents such as Japan (18th in the world), Iran (20th), South Korea (23rd), Australia (24th), Qatar (34th), Saudi Arabia (53rd), Iraq (58th), UAE (67th), and Jordan (71st).
On the global front, the reigning world champions, the Argentina national team, continue to lead the rankings with 1858 points. Trailing closely behind are the French team in second place with 1840.59 points, followed by Belgium in third place with 1795.23 points. Notably, Belgium surpassed the England team, which now occupies the fourth position with 1794.9 points.
