In latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings were released on February 15, the rankings of Central Asian countries reveal Uzbekistan's high ranking at 66th position and Turkemistan's position at 141. The following are the rankings of Central Asian countries:
Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan’s national team currently holds the 66th position in the FIFA rankings after climbing by two spots. Their total points stand at 1382.7. The previous score for 68th rank was at 1345.7. The highest rank in Uzbekistan's history of football was 45 in 2007.
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan has made history by reaching a new high in the rankings. Climbing a single rung, they now occupy the 96th spot. Their ranking is at 1215.2, with the highest place at 83 in 2016.
Tajikistan
Tajikistan’s national team stands at 99th place in the FIFA rankings. The highest rank of all time the team possesses is the current one with a score of 1218.9.
Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan’s football team currently holds the 104th position, scoring 1196.9. They went down 8 positions since the previous rankings. The highest rank in their history is 75, which they got in 2018.
Turkmenistan
Turkmenistan’s national team ranks 141th in the world with a score of 1078.3. The country's team remained in the same position and once reached 86th place in 2004.
Earlier, it was reported that the Tajikistan Football Federation (TFF) has strategically utilized the FIFA Forward program, receiving a total funding of $11.4mn during the 2016-2022 period, to emphasize and fortify a structured pathway for player development, extending from grassroots to elite levels.
Moreover, with the support of the FIFA Forward program, Uzbek football has also made significant progress in recent years in accelerating its national team development program with the total amount of funding under the FIFA Forward program during 2016-2022 amounting to $9.9mn.
