The State Customs Service of Turkmenistan reports that it held a meeting via video link with representatives of the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Trade of Turkey.
This meeting is organised within the framework of the trilateral Memorandum of Understanding on the establishment of a joint advisory group on customs cooperation, signed in 2022.
"The sides determined the place and time of the first meeting of the joint group, as well as discussed the issue of organising the mutual exchange of information on goods and vehicles moving across the customs borders of the parties."
The purpose of the Memorandum is to simplify customs procedures for the accelerated movement of goods between the states of the parties, creating conditions conducive to the development of mutual trade.
Experts told Daryo that the three capitals are working together to develop transport and transit corridors such as transit corridors such as the Lapis Lazuli (Afghanistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey) and the Caspian-Black Sea.
