The investment forum "Turkmenistan - Investment and Development", organised by the British Nielsonsmith, is being held in London (UK) from 22 to 23 November.
This year's event focuses on six main areas: oil and gas, finance, banking and insurance, information technology, IT telecommunications, transportaition and logistics, manufacturing and construction, chemicals and electricity generation.
Bilateral talks between stakeholders are scheduled on the sidelines of the forum.
UK Export Finance, a government organisation that acts as the UK's export credit agency, has previously said it plans to expand its targeted partnership with Turkmenistan.
According to UK data, in 2021, the outward stock of foreign direct investment (FDI) from the UK in Turkmenistan was £28 million.
Turkmenistan was the UK’s 169th largest trading partner in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023 accounting for less than 0.1% of total UK trade.
Total trade in goods and services (exports plus imports) between the UK and Turkmenistan was £64 million in the four quarters to the end of Q2 2023, an increase of 48.8% or £21 million in current prices from the four quarters to the end of Q2 2022.
