The President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov, engaged in discussions today with Kunihara Ebina, the head of the Japan Association of Tour Operators (JATA), during his official visit to Japan. The focus of their talks was the expansion of ties in the field of tourism, exploring mutual benefits and long-term partnerships.
The meeting involved an exchange of views on various aspects of enhancing collaboration in the tourism sector, addressing both current challenges and future prospects. President Japarov expressed Kyrgyzstan's keen interest in fostering close cooperation in tourism, emphasizing the country's commitment to creating favorable conditions for visitors through ongoing reforms.
Kyrgyzstan, as highlighted by President Japarov, offers diverse tourism experiences including business, winter, medical and recreational, cultural and educational, as well as active tourism. He underscored the nation's dedication to ensuring the comfort and confidence of every tourist, a commitment reflected in the ongoing reforms designed to propel tourism development.
President Japarov drew attention to Kyrgyzstan's advantageous geographical position, suggesting the potential for combined tours throughout Central Asia. In this context, he called upon the Japanese side to actively collaborate in both the development of mutual tourism initiatives and infrastructure projects within Kyrgyzstan's tourism industry.
Encouraging Japanese tour operators to explore the offerings of Kyrgyzstan, President Japarov extended an invitation for them to visit the country and explore compelling investment opportunities. He emphasized the importance of forging strong partnerships and mutual understanding in the realm of tourism.
In response, Kunihara Ebina, the head of JATA, expressed great satisfaction at the prospect of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. He highlighted the rich tourism potential of the country and affirmed JATA's readiness to work closely with Kyrgyz counterparts. Kunihara Ebina elaborated on the company's activities and proposed joint practical initiatives aimed at promoting Kyrgyzstan's tourism products on the Japanese market. President Sadyr Japarov's visit also included a meeting with Akihiko Tanaka, President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Discussions during this meeting underscored the robust and trusting relationship that has evolved between Kyrgyzstan and Japan through the collaborative efforts of JICA, further solidifying the bonds of cooperation between the two nations.
