Magnum Cash & Carry is strategically expanding its operations in Uzbekistan, by 2024, it intends to open 10 new supermarkets across the country. Magnum Cash & Carry’s logistics director, Mikhail Filippov, announced during the Tradex trade forum in Almaty to boost retail in Uzbekistan.
The retailer first ventured into the Uzbek market in December 2021, making noteworthy progress by adding five stores to its operations. The forthcoming expansion aims to further strengthen Magnum's presence in Uzbekistan's retail environment, with consumer demands surging in the region.
As of 2023, Magnum Cash & Carry LLP made a strategic acquisition by securing 100% ownership of Majid Al Futtaim LLC Uzbekistan. As part of this deal, all Carrefour stores are set to be rebranded under the Magnum name, aligning with the company's broader growth strategy.
Founded in 2007, Magnum Cash & Carry has become a key player in the retail industry, exhibiting over 230 stores in various formats across Kazakhstan. These include Magnum 24/7 (hypermarkets), Magnum Super, Magnum Express, and Magnum Daily (minimarkets near homes). Forbes Kazakhstan's "50 largest private companies in Kazakhstan - 2022" ranking places Magnum at the seventh spot, emphasizing its significant presence in the country.
Magnum Cash & Carry is owned by the Subsidiary of Caspian Trading Investment Co. LLP. Ltd, with founders Azamat Osmanov and Alexander Rodenkov as the leaders. Their leadership has navigated Magnum to a prominent position in the competitive Central Asian retail market
