Turkmenistan is inviting inviting Qatari investors to explore opportunities in Turkmenistan, particularly in the energy, food, and textiles sectors, the Qatar Chamber (QC) reports.
Serdar Kepbanov, Director of the Trade House Enterprise of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan, met in Doha, Qatar, with QC Director of Administrative and Finance Affairs, Hussian Yusef Al Abdulghani.
The parties discussed ways to enhance commercial and industrial cooperation, encourage businessmen from both countries to form alliances and partnerships.
Experts told Daryo that Ashgabat is interested in the participation of major financial and investment structures of Qatar in the implementation of the
Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project, the construction of which began in December 2015.
In addition, in 2011 Doha signed the Ashgabat Agreement on the formation of the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman-Qatar transit and transport corridor. This project aims to provide a stable link between the Central Asian countries and the ports of the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman.
The Turkmenistan's government previously signed a memorandum of understanding with Al Qamra Holding to finance potential projects in the local market.
