Astana's operational headquarters for combating terrorism has announced that anti-terrorist exercises will take place in Kazakhtan's capital.
The event's objective is to test the readiness of the forces and equipment to respond to the possibility of terrorism.
The official report states that on August 29, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the operational headquarters will conduct a pre-planned anti-terrorist exercise in Astana.
The authorities have requested residents and visitors of the capital to understand the training activities and follow the legal requirements of the services participating in the exercises.
Earlier, Daryo reported that the armed forces of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan conducted the second phase of the Kanzhar 2023 joint military exercises at the Oymash training range in the Mangystau Region's Aktau garrison. These exercises aim to improve the cooperation between the two nations' armed forces and sharpen their capacity to react effectively to potential terrorist threats while strengthening Central Asia's military security.
