Turkmenistan has offered Palestine to hold a business forum with the participation of representatives of the private and public sectors in order to establish new ties, the Turkmenistan's foreign ministry reports.
The initiative was announced during a meeting in Ashgabat between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his Palestinian counterpart Riyadh al-Maliki.

During the consultations, the prospects of bilateral relations in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were analysed. The importance of organizing contacts at the highest and high levels was also emphasized.
Experts told Daryo that the two countries had previously agreed to develop co-operation in the fields of trade, industry, agro-business and production of construction materials.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas paid an official visit to Turkmenistan on 13-15 November 2016. Following the talks, an agreement on economic co-operation was signed. A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Ministry of Economy of Turkmenistan and the Palestinian Investment Promotion Agency.
