The Minister of Industry and New Technologies of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, recently proposed to the Deputy Prime Minister - Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, Denis Manturov, to collaborate on creating joint industrial zones, media reports.
As per the Ministry's press service, the Russian side was invited to take part in various priority projects, including those in mining, textile, and food industries.
Kabir emphasized that the Tajikistan government is actively working to attract foreign investors in order to double the country's industrial production within the next five years.
Sherali Kabir also highlighted the potential benefits of the Russian capital and experts in the creation of technoparks in Tajikistan.
During his visit to Yekaterinburg, Kabir also held discussions with the leadership of the Russian Copper Company regarding the cooperation of Russia and Tajikistan in non-ferrous metallurgy. Additionally, he met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia, Oleg Bocharov, and the management of the company "BTK Group" to discuss the preparatory work for the creation of a textile complex in the city of Kulob.
