The State Committee for Land Management and Geodesy of Tajikistan has recently approved a new process for issuing, replacing, and canceling the Certificate for a land share.
This step aims to reduce corruption in the land sector while limiting the power of dehkan farm chairmen who often infringe upon the rights of their fellow farmers.
The primary goal of the new procedure is to regulate land share-related matters in the republic's farms. The State Land Committee has stated that the new process provides favorable conditions for exercising the right to land use, creating farms, and determining the size of a land plot and land share. It will also help solve existing problems in the area.
A land share certificate is a document that states the share of a farm member in the total land fund of dekhkan farms. Following the restructuring of agricultural organizations in Tajikistan, the number of farms has significantly increased.
As of the start of 2023, the Agency of Statistics reported that Tajikistan had over 172,000 dehkan farms dispersed across the country.
