The Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan has recently warned tourists about the increased water levels in the country's rivers.
The country's Agency for Hydrometeorology has forecasted that the Pyanj, Vakhsh, and Zeravshan rivers will experience elevated water levels due to rising temperatures from July 15 to 17.
As a precautionary measure, the authorities advise individuals to exercise caution when near bodies of water and collaborate with the department to devise safe tourist routes and mountain hiking plans.
The Committee of Emergency Situations and Civil Defense of Tajikistan also emphasizes the importance of vigilance when traveling through mountain passes and roads and engaging in activities such as gathering herbs, firewood, fishing, and hunting.
Besides, it's urging people to clean up water bodies like rivers, streams, canals, and villages to mitigate the risk of mudslides.
