Turkmenistan, UK have expressed readiness for a partnership on such promising aspects as the energy, climate change, agriculture and water management, the Turkmenistan's Foreign Ministry reports. This was announced at a meeting between Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the UK Leo Docherty, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit.
"Meredov emphasized the effective development of the Turkmen-British cooperation. In this context, he noted that the participation of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov at the coronation ceremony of King Charles III in May this year was an important event in strengthening interstate ties."

The British companies have recently introduced the local top energy managers with the potential of their "green" projects. In particular, they presented modern solutions in areas as capture and monetization of the associated gas, green power generation, hydrogen production, and decarbonization of the oil and gas sector.
Turkmenistan is only on the way to becoming carbon-neutral. A study on the subject was published last year by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) UK. "Potential scenario of 100% clean Renewable Energy Sources (RES) for Turkmenistan by 2050," report said.
