Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov labelled the rebellion led by "Wagner" founder Yevgeny Prigozhin a disgusting betrayal on June 24.
"All that is going on is backstabbing and a true military coup!" he writes in a Telegram post.
Kadyrov stated that he fully supports every word of Putin's speech. He claims that fighters from the Ministry of Defense and the Russian Guard branch in the Republic of Chechnya have already left for the tension zones.
"We will do everything in our power to preserve Russia's unity and statehood! I appeal to our country's fighters, patriots. Do not give in to provocations. Whatever goals are set for you, whatever promises are made, the security of the state and the cohesiveness of Russian society are paramount at this time! You can see how our rivals in the West are using this scenario. How much junk, how many misleading pleas that scare people and threaten to destabilise the situation? These are the predictable outcomes of Prigozhin's dangerous campaign," states Kadyrov.
On June 11, Daryo informed that the head of Chechnya, has made an announcement stating that two regiments will be deployed to the war zone. The regiments, named "Akhmat-Russia" and "Akhmat-Chechenistan," have been newly formed under the Ministry of Defense in Chechnya and are set to be dispatched to the territory affected by the conflict with Ukraine. The establishment of the Akhmat-Russia and Akhmat-Chechenistan regiments demonstrates Chechnya's determination to contribute to the continuing conflict.
Prigozhin accused Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu of approving a missile strike on the Wagner encampment on the evening of June 23. Prigozhin then threatened to lead a "march of justice," which many interpreted as an effort to organise a military coup. The Russian Federal Security Service has initiated an investigation against Prigozhin for an armed coup attempt. The city of Rostov-on-Don was taken by "Wagner" fighters on the night of June 23, Daryo reported.
