The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has responded to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's statement that Ukrainians cannot emerge victorious in battle, Eurointegration reports.
Oleg Nikolenko, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, conveyed the reaction. According to the ministry's report, Ukrainians will persist in their fight until their territories are fully liberated, in contrast to those who advocate surrendering to the enemy without resistance.
Nikolenko quoted Viktor Orban, who remarked on Russia's aggression against Ukraine, stating that it does not matter who initiated the conflict and expressing his belief that Ukraine will not succeed in the war. Nikolenko criticized Orban for relieving Russia of responsibility for its aggression against Ukraine, suggesting that the Kremlin would be pleased with his stance.
He also recalled that in 2022, certain European politicians predicted that Ukraine would not be able to withstand the aggression for more than 72 hours. Nikolenko emphasized that those predictions were proven wrong and asserted that, unlike proponents of surrendering without resistance, Ukrainians will persevere in their fight until their territory is completely freed from Russian occupation. He highlighted that this approach is crucial not only for restoring peace in Ukraine but also for ensuring the security of the entire European region.
