A meeting was recently convened with the attendance of representatives from several countries, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the Commonwealth Executive Committee. The objective of the meeting was to deliberate on an agreement, and the experts considered all the comments and suggestions from the participating countries before finally arriving at a consensus on the document. The draft Agreement will be submitted to the CIS Council of Heads of State meeting per the established procedure.
Once ratified, this agreement is expected to facilitate the creation of the International Centre for Risk Assessment of the Legalization of Proceeds of Crime and Financing of Terrorism. This development will strengthen cooperation amongst CIS member states and ensure effective inter-State information cooperation and a supranational risk assessment through the work of financial intelligence units.
