16 May. Iran and Russia are considering the possibility of creating an energy consortium, including companies from both countries, to ramp up significantly oil and gas production. This was reported on Tuesday by the Shana news agency, citing the adviser to the Minister of Oil of the Islamic Republic, Hossein Shameli.
According to the Iranian online media room, Shameli noted that the Russian Federation and Iran played a "fundamental role" in meeting the world's energy needs at the opening ceremony of a business meeting between representatives of Iranian and Russian oil and gas companies in Tehran.
The Iranian adviser quoted the Minister who said that the private sector of the two countries can play a significant role in the creation of new financial mechanisms to accelerate the development of bilateral relations.
