The latest report from the Agency of Statistics shows an increase in monthly inflation since April, reaching 0.8%. Compared to April of last year, inflation has risen by 11%.
The report also revealed that there had been a growth in prices for goods and services, with the former rising by 0.9% and the latter by 0.5%. Since the beginning of the year, these indicators have reached 3.6% and 2.2%, respectively. In annual terms, the figures stand at 11.7% and 8.6%.
There has been a rise in the prices of food products, with a 1.2% increase in April for vegetables, tubers, and pulses. Non-food products also hiked by 0.5%. Since the beginning of the year, the figures stand at 4.7% and 2.2%, respectively. In annual terms, these products have hiked by 13.7% and 9.3%.
Regarding specific products, eggplant, radish, pumpkin, potato, greens, pepper, onion, and cucumbers have fallen in price. However, beets, garlic, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes, and bananas have all seen significant price hikes. There has also been a rise in the prices of meat, milk, fruits and nuts, sugar, and rice. However, eggs, sunflower oil, and flour have seen a price decrease.
Clothing and shoes have both seen a modest price increase, while materials for repair have seen a more significant rise of 2.1%. There has also been a hike in fees for the export of household waste in two regions of Uzbekistan, but the average for the month was 1.7%. On the other hand, rental services saw a decrease of 0.1%. Finally, there has been a rise in the prices of drugs, dental services, outpatient treatment, diagnostics, and services of medical laboratories.
