The constitutional law "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan", adopted in the referendum on April 30, entered into force on May 1, 2023.
From May 1, 2023, should the legal norms given in the laws and other official documents conflict with the Constitution, the courts will make a decision based on the Constitution. The full text of the document can be found through this link.
90.2 percent (15,034,608) of Uzbek citizens participated in the referendum on April 30. They voted for the New Constitution; 9.35 percent (1,558,817) voted against the change. The number of invalid ballots was 0.44 percent (73,672).
