Passengers arriving from Turkmenistan to China will only need to take an antigen test instead of the mandatory PCR test for COVID-19, the Chinese Embassy in Ashgabat reports.
In this regard, the official website of the diplomatic mission has updated the Guidelines for Prevention and Control of the Epidemic for passengers travelling to China.
China opened its borders to tourist visas in March 2023. Turkmen Airlines operates regular flights between Ashgabat and Beijing, while China Southern Airlines operates regular flights between Ashgabat and Urumqi.
The information states that passengers must be tested 48 hours before boarding the plane, after which they must upload the test results via China Customs' mobile app or the Chinese Customs website(https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn).
To reduce the risk of infection, it is advisable to wear a mask throughout the flight and use personal protective equipment.
Upon arrival in the country, passengers should strictly comply with local requirements for prevention and control of epidemics," the information said.
