The head of the international relations department of the Deutsche Bahn AG, Ens Gröfer, noted that Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan, was a key partner in the region for Germany.
According to Mr.Gröfer, the German national railway company had been involved in various railway projects in Uzbekistan such as the Tashkent metro development project, and the construction of a 19-km tunnel in the Kamchik pass, which was innovative for the transport system in the region.
"The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Germany is the clear proof of the special and reliable relations between our countries. The high-level active dialogue shows that Uzbekistan and Germany show great interest and the desire to build an active future together. I am sure that the upcoming high-level visit will give a new impetus to the progress of friendship and economic cooperation between Germany and Uzbekistan.
We consider the President of Uzbekistan to be devoted to his work. He is a supporter of more consistent development of the country. This can be seen in the example of the New Uzbekistan program. The future of the state is really bright," the expert added.
Germany has a well-developed transport system, among many other sectors. The main modules of the country's transport include railways, automobiles, and air and waterways. The entire infrastructure, transport support system and services in Germany belong to the country's "Deutsche Bahn" company. Its specialists provide service for about 34 thousand kilometres, of which 20 thousand kilometres are electrified. More than 4,000 locomotives transport more than 2 billion passengers and 300 million tons of various goods per year.
