Citizens continue to cast their votes in a Constitutional Referendum across Uzbekistan, including the Andijan region. A noteworthy account of civic participation also belongs to Iminjon Temirov, a 98-year-old World War II veteran, Daryo correspondent in Andijan, Umidjon Mamarasulov, reports.
Iminjon Temirov, who valiantly served his country for eight years, visited the polling station in person to cast his vote. He served as a unit commander in the 113th Special Rifle Brigade during the war.
Despite the option of receiving a portable voting box at his home, Iminjon Temirov insisted on making the journey to precinct 563 to exercise his right to vote. He stated that he voted with the future of his grandchildren in mind.
'I voted for the future of my grandchildren,' he said.
Further, other elderly residents, such as 94-year-old Abdurahmon Khojialiyev and Gulsorakhan Hayitboyeva, also displayed their commitment by visiting the polling stations to cast their votes.
