Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, on April 18, took part in the first Meeting of Ministers responsible for foreign economic and foreign trade activities in the format Central Asia – China to discuss the current state and prospect of strengthening trade, economic, and investment cooperation, including in the field of investments, Dunyo reports.
Besides, the parties discussed measures to expand the multilateral trading system, increase the volume of mutual supply of products, introduce the digital economy, develop transport infrastructure, and strengthen regional cooperation.
In his speech, Laziz Kudratov noted the importance of effectively using the huge transit potential of Central Asia - China and the need to develop system solutions to ensure the smooth flow of cargo and the development of cross-border logistics networks.
The importance of continuing to deepen interregional development was stressed. In this context, it was proposed to hold a Forum of Heads of Regions of Central Asian countries and China in the second half of the year in Uzbekistan to strengthen business partnerships and identify new growth points.
The prospects of intensifying interaction within the framework of the expansion of digital trade were discussed. The initiative on the development of the Program of Development of Economy and Trade in the Digital Age, which will include the creation of a common platform Intellectual Silk Road based on IT parks of the region's countries, has been proposed.
The meeting participants noted with satisfaction the successful coordination of the planned memorandums on strengthening trade and economic cooperation and cooperation in the digital trade sphere in China - Central Asia format.
At the end of the meeting, the parties unanimously confirmed their intention to continue their engagement, aimed at creating a favorable environment for the economic actors of the Central Asian countries and China and at further expanding mutually beneficial industrial, investment, economic, and trade cooperation.
