Sherzod Umarov, a citizen wanted in the Namangan region for the alleged rape of a minor girl was arrested, the Press Secretary of the Minister of Internal Affairs reports.
Umarov was found on April 12 in the basement of a house located on Uzbekistan Street in Namangan. A preventive measure in the form of imprisonment has currently been applied to him.
For reference, Sherzod Umarov, born in 1989, who lives in an apartment on Uzbekiston Street in Namangan city, allegedly took a minor girl home in a taxi from "Babur Park" on April 1 at 11:30 p.m., took her to an unknown address, used force and assaulted her.
Umarov also reportedly hit and injured two young men on March 27 at 12:30 p.m., reasoning that they were blocking his path. The suspect fled from the crime scene. According to the forensic examination, two young men received light to moderate injuries in the incident.
