Hans-Ulrich Im completes his mission as OSCE Acting Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan

    11 April, 11:04 1049

Deputy Foreign Minister Gayrat Fozilov, on April 10, met with OSCE Acting Project Co-ordinator Hans-Ulrich Im, who is completing his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.

The two sides emphasized the importance of further cooperation on implementing the OSCE projects in Uzbekistan, including in the Joint Road Map in 2023-2024.

The Deputy Foreign Minister thanked the OSCE Acting Project Co-ordinator for the fruitful work and significant contribution to strengthening interaction between Uzbekistan and the Organization.

In his turn, Hans-Ulrich Im sincerely thanked for the comprehensive assistance during his mission in Uzbekistan.

The OSCE (Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe) has been active in Uzbekistan since 1994 when the Central Asian country joined the organization. The OSCE's activities focus on promoting human rights, democracy, and the rule of law and supporting economic and environmental cooperation and security.

In recent years, the OSCE has also been involved in efforts to promote regional security and stability in Central Asia, including through its support for the Afghan peace process.
