Uzbekistan is among the top 5 countries where Russian citizens want to celebrate holidays in May, "TASS" informs.
According to the RS TLS company, which specializes in organizing trips and providing concierge services, the majority of Russian citizens planned to spend the May holidays in Minsk. "Many people want to go to the capital of Belarus for shopping, delicious food in local restaurants, as well as sightseeing," the authors of the study write.
Kazakhstan with its mountain resorts took second place on the list. "Gastronomic trips to Armenia and Georgia are not losing their popularity among Russians even this spring," the report says.

In early April, it became known that Uzbekistan was among the most popular countries where Russians are looking for work. Among Russians who are ready to leave the country for a new job, the share of applicants has grown to 58% (47% in 2020).
According to the IFMR, the number of foreign tourists to Uzbekistan has almost doubled in 2017-2022. If in 2017 their number was 2.7mn, then in 2022 this figure reached 5.2mn. The largest number of foreign citizens came to Uzbekistan for recreation and leisure from Russia (37.6%), Kazakhstan (11.2%), and Turkey (6.3%).
