A meeting is being held in the Kegeyli district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Daryo reports.
Reportedly, President said that the chairperson of the Jokorgy Kenes and district governors should explain their plans with precise calculations on several issues.
Karakalpakstan has a shortage of 168,000 tons of potatoes, 48,000 tons of beef and poultry, and 90mn eggs. It was therefore ordered to take measures to provide the population with food products.
'There are no kindergartens in 4 neighborhoods in Karakalpakstan, and the number of students in 51 schools is twice the norm. Also, the drinking water supply could be better in 208 communities. Hundred twenty kilometers of highways and 600 kilometers of the busiest internal roads must be repaired.
Karakalpakstan is expected to have an electricity shortage of 100mn kilowatt-hours in 2023. A separate decision was made on this issue, and all tasks were defined. How will Jokorgy Kenes's chairperson cover this deficit with the district governors?' the President said.
The head of state added that in 2023, each district governor should bring an additional investment of $50mn.
